OAT Bootcamp costs $599 for Bootcamp Pro with 90 days of access or $999 for Bootcamp Plus with 180 days and 25 extra section tests, read from bootcamp.com/oat/upgrade on October 6, 2026. Those are sale prices against list prices of $699 and $1,299, and Klarna splits them into four payments of $149.75 or $249.75. Add the last published OAT exam fee of $520 and a first attempt with OAT Bootcamp costs $1,119 to $1,519.
If you are reading this you have a test window in mind and you are about to put several hundred dollars on a card. The pages that rank for this question are review sites that earn a commission when you buy, and their figures have drifted: some still list Pro at $499 or $549 and Plus at $899 or $949. Those were real prices at some point. They are not what the checkout shows today. We read the upgrade page, the plan cards and Bootcamp's own comparison table directly, and one number on that page does not hold up, which we cover below.
OAT Bootcamp price by plan
| Plan | Price now | List price | Access | Per day | Klarna |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bootcamp Pro | $599 | $699 | 90 days | About $6.66 | 4 x $149.75 |
| Bootcamp Plus | $999 | $1,299 | 180 days | About $5.55 | 4 x $249.75 |
Pro includes the full question bank, the video library, score predictions, Dr. Mike's chemistry videos, the mobile app and the Higher Score Guarantee. Plus is everything in Pro with 90 more days and five extra practice tests in each of Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Reading and Math. That is 25 extra tests. Notice what is missing from that list: Physics. The OAT has a Physics section the DAT does not, and Plus adds no extra Physics tests, so the ten Physics tests in Pro are all you get on either plan.
How many questions does OAT Bootcamp really have?
About 7,700, not 11,000. The Pro plan card on the upgrade page says "11,000+ OAT Questions". Further down the same page, Bootcamp's own comparison table against Kaplan says "7,700+ Questions" and "60 Practice Tests". The section breakdowns on that page settle it: 3,880 Biology questions, 503 General Chemistry, 977 Organic Chemistry, 400 Physics, 789 Reading Comprehension and 1,152 Quantitative Reasoning. That adds up to 7,701. The 11,000 figure matches the DAT Bootcamp plan card word for word, which is where it most likely came from.
That matters less than it sounds. 7,700 questions is still more than most students finish in 90 days. It does tell you where the bank is deep and where it is thin. Biology carries half the bank. General Chemistry has 503 questions and Physics 400, and those are the two sections where students who come from a biology-heavy major tend to lose points. If either is your weak section, plan on running out of new questions there long before you run out in Biology.
| OAT section | Practice tests | Questions | Videos |
|---|---|---|---|
| Biology | 10 | 3,880 | 400+ |
| General Chemistry | 10 | 503 | 600+ |
| Organic Chemistry | 10 | 977 | 750+ |
| Physics | 10 | 400 | Formula cheatsheet |
| Reading Comprehension | 10 | 789 | 20 |
| Quantitative Reasoning | 10 | 1,152 | 950+ |
| Total | 60 | 7,701 |
The same comparison table also lists the Pro price as $549, while the plan card and checkout say $599. Trust the checkout.
Is OAT Bootcamp Plus worth $400 more than Pro?
Only if you need the time. Plus costs $400 more and buys 90 extra days and 25 extra section tests. Per day of access it is cheaper, about $5.55 against $6.66. Most OAT takers study for two to three months, which fits inside Pro's 90 days if your test date is booked before you buy. Plus makes sense in three cases: you are studying alongside a full semester of science courses, you expect a retake (the OAT requires a 60-day wait between attempts, so a second attempt rarely fits inside 90 days), or Reading and Math are your weak sections, since that is where most of the extra tests land.
If you buy early to lock in a sale, ask support to hold the start of your access. Bootcamp will pause an account on request before you start studying, so the 90 or 180 days begin when you do.
Does OAT Bootcamp have a money-back guarantee?
No. It has a Higher Score Guarantee, and it pays out in time, not money. Bootcamp lists it on both OAT plans but does not publish OAT-specific conditions on the upgrade page. On the identical DAT guarantee, the remedy is a free extension of your membership until your retake, up to 180 days, and you qualify only with an official score report from an earlier attempt, at least 8 practice tests completed in each subject, 80% of the videos and questions done, and a new test date booked. Expect the OAT version to work the same way, and ask support for the written terms before you count on it. First-time test takers cannot claim it, because the condition is beating a previous official OAT score.
Refunds are a separate question, and the answer is short. Bootcamp's terms of service say fees are non-refundable to the fullest extent permitted by law, with refunds only at its discretion in extraordinary circumstances. Treat the purchase as final. The free account, which includes sample material, is the place to decide whether you like the interface before you pay.
OAT Bootcamp vs the other OAT courses
The closest rival is OAT Booster, and on the OAT it is not cheaper. Booster sells two Premium memberships at exactly the same prices as Bootcamp: $599 for 90 days (list $699) and $999 for 180 days (list $1,299), read from boosterprep.com on October 6, 2026. That is different from the DAT, where Booster undercuts Bootcamp by $50 to $100. Where Booster pulls ahead is the guarantee: a repeat taker who does not improve can choose a full refund or a free extension, provided they had an official score before buying, scored 270 or higher on at least 8 practice tests per subject, finished 80% of the extra questions and videos, and email within 15 days of the retake score.
| Option | Price | Access | Questions | Guarantee | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| OAT Bootcamp Pro | $599 | 90 days | About 7,700, 60 tests | Extension only, conditions not published for the OAT | Most first-time takers with a date booked |
| OAT Bootcamp Plus | $999 | 180 days | Same plus 25 section tests | Same | Long study plans or a likely retake |
| OAT Booster 90 days | $599 | 90 days | 7,800+, 60 tests | Refund or extension for repeat takers | Repeat takers who want a cash guarantee |
| OAT Booster 180 days | $999 | 180 days | Same plus 20 section tests | Same | Long plans with the same guarantee |
| Princeton Review OAT tutoring | $1,800 for 10 hours | Tutoring only | Not a question bank | Not applicable | One-to-one help on a single weak section |
| Aspirants.ai Starter | $288 a year or $49 a month | Cancel any time | New questions on demand | Cancel any time | Fresh practice once a bank repeats |
Kaplan also sells an OAT course, but its site blocked every attempt to read current prices, so we have not printed a figure. Bootcamp's own comparison table quotes Kaplan at $1,199; that is Bootcamp's claim about a competitor, not Kaplan's checkout. The Princeton Review sells OAT tutoring only: 10 hours for $1,800 or 30 hours for $4,600.
What the OAT itself costs
The OAT is run by the ADA's testing department for the optometry schools. The last published exam fee is $520, labeled for July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. The 2026 candidate guide, updated in August 2026, still prints that figure and says the fee changes effective July 1, 2026, without stating the new amount, so check the price on the application screen before you pay. The other charges are published:
- Rescheduling: $50 with 30 or more business days of notice, $70 with 5 to 29, $150 with 1 to 4. A no-show forfeits the full fee.
- Extra score report $55, score audit $105, 45-day eligibility extension $150.
- Retakes need a 60-day gap, with at most four attempts in any 12 months. From the third attempt you need permission and proof you applied to optometry school in the last 18 months.
- The official practice test is $100 for all six modules or $20 per module, and each must be finished within 24 hours of purchase.
- A partial fee waiver covers 50% of the exam fee for first-time takers who show financial hardship.
So at the last published fee, one attempt plus Bootcamp Pro is $1,119, and one attempt plus Plus is $1,519. Scores are reported from 200 to 400 in 10-point steps, and a retake adds another exam fee, which is the strongest argument for preparing properly the first time.
Where Aspirants.ai fits
The weak point of any fixed bank is the last few weeks. You have seen the Physics and General Chemistry questions, you remember the answers, and a practice score stops telling you anything. Fresh OAT practice questions on your weakest section are what Aspirants.ai is built for: it writes new questions on the topic where you keep missing points, explains every answer choice, and answers follow-up questions at any hour. Starter is $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month, cancel any time. If your own lecture notes are the best summary of what your professors stressed, you can also ask questions of your own lecture notes while you review.
