A NAPLEX prep course costs about $280 to $1,800 in the US, read from the vendors' own pages on October 8, 2026. UWorld RxPrep, which now sells the RxPrep course, charges $799 to $1,199 for its online course and $299 to $449 for the question bank alone. High-Yield Med Reviews charges $279 to $359, and PassNAPLEXNow charges $895 online or $1,495 for its live review. NABP adds $620 for the exam itself, so a first attempt with a mid-priced course runs about $1,400 to $1,900.

If you are reading this, you probably have a graduation date, an employer waiting on your license and a card in your hand. The pages that rank for this question are mostly school catalogs and scraped PDFs, and none of them lists what the courses cost today. So we read each vendor's checkout page and NABP's candidate bulletin, then worked out what a first attempt really costs and where the money is wasted.

Prices are read from pharmacy.uworld.com, highyieldmedreviews.com, passnaplexnow.com and APhA's store. Pharmacy Prep sells a NAPLEX home study package for $990 Canadian, and its NAPLEX page still shows a 2022 schedule, so we left it out of the table. We could not read a current Kaplan NAPLEX product or price, so we do not quote one.

Is RxPrep the same as UWorld now?

Yes. rxprep.com now redirects to pharmacy.uworld.com, and the course is sold as UWorld RxPrep. That matters when you compare, because many students still think of "RxPrep or UWorld" as a choice between two companies. It is one product line with two ways to buy it. The online course is the full RxPrep program: lectures, the course book and the question bank. The test bank is the question bank on its own, with the same 3,000+ questions. If you already know the material from school and want volume, the 90-day test bank at $349 does the job that the $999 course does for a third of the price.

How much does RxPrep cost for the NAPLEX?

The RxPrep online course is $999 for 180 days or $1,199 for 360 days with the printed course book, and $799 or $999 without it. The book alone costs $225, so buying the course without the book and adding the book later costs $1,024 for 180 days, $25 more than the bundle. If you want the book at all, buy it in the bundle. If you are happy with the digital material, the no-book 180-day course at $799 is the sensible middle option.

Renewals are where students overspend. A 30-day course renewal is $99, 60 days $149 and 90 days $199. For the test bank, 30 days is $59 and 90 days is $129. If your exam date slips by a few weeks, a short renewal is far cheaper than buying the 360-day plan up front "just in case". If you plan to test within three months of graduating, 180 days covers that with room to spare.

What the NAPLEX itself costs

NABP charges a $100 eligibility application fee and a $520 exam fee, $620 in total, and some states add an $85 eligibility processing fee. The exam is 225 questions, of which 200 are scored, over six hours, and you get a pass or fail result rather than a score. A retake costs the full $620 again, you must wait at least 45 days, and NABP allows three attempts in 12 months and five in total unless your board permits more. The rules are covered in detail in our guide on how many times you can take the NAPLEX.

PathPrepNABP feesFirst attempt total
Question bank only (UWorld RxPrep 90 days)$349$620$969
High-Yield Med Reviews, 6 months$319$620$939
RxPrep course, 180 days, no book$799$620$1,419
PassNAPLEXNow online$895$620$1,515
RxPrep course, 360 days, with book$1,199$620$1,819
PassNAPLEXNow online plus live$1,789$620$2,409

Add the MPJE or your state's law exam on top. NABP prices those separately.

Which NAPLEX prep course should I buy?

Pick by what you are short on, not by brand. Three situations cover most graduates.

You did well in pharmacotherapy and need practice under time. Buy a question bank, not a course. The 90-day UWorld RxPrep test bank ($349) or High-Yield Med Reviews ($279 for a month, $319 for six) gives you thousands of questions and a full-length mock. Spend the difference on nothing.

You need the content taught again. Buy a course. The RxPrep online course is the most complete package in the table, and the no-book 180-day version at $799 is the best value in that line. PassNAPLEXNow at $895 is the alternative if you prefer its video style. Read its terms first: it does not refund after registration.

You learn best in a room, or you failed once. A live review is the most expensive option at $1,495, and it makes sense mainly for repeat takers whose problem is structure and accountability. After a failed attempt you also pay $620 again to NABP, so a cheap fix that works is worth more than an expensive one that repeats what failed.

Before you pay anything, ask your college of pharmacy whether it already gives graduates a NAPLEX review license. Some programs buy access for the whole class, and it would be a shame to pay $999 for something you already have.

Is a NAPLEX pass guarantee worth paying for?

Only if you can read the terms. High-Yield Med Reviews advertises a money-back pass guarantee on its price cards, but the conditions are not printed on the course page, so ask for them in writing before relying on it. UWorld RxPrep does not advertise a pass guarantee on its NAPLEX pages, and PassNAPLEXNow says plainly that its course is not money-back guaranteed. A guarantee usually requires you to complete the course and its practice exams first, so it rewards students who were going to prepare well anyway.

Where Aspirants.ai fits

Every course above sells a fixed set of questions. By the last few weeks most students have seen the hard ones and start answering from memory. Aspirants.ai writes new NAPLEX-style questions on the competency area you keep missing, explains why each wrong option is wrong, and answers follow-up questions at any hour, which is useful when a dosing calculation stops making sense at midnight. It does not replace a course or a full-length mock. Starter is $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month. You can try sample items on our NAPLEX practice questions page and see how the format is covered on the NAPLEX exam page.

One more thing to budget for. Pharmacy job offers often arrive before the license does, and some tie a sign-on bonus to passing. If you have an offer on the table, it is worth learning how to negotiate a pharmacist job offer before you sign, because the starting salary compounds for years and the prep course is a one-time cost.
