Surgent CPA Review cost in 2026 now that Surgent sells UWorld, and cheaper alternatives
Surgent used to be the answer to one question: which full CPA course costs under a thousand dollars and never expires. That product is no longer for sale. Surgent became part of UWorld, and its CPA page now sends candidates to UWorld CPA Review at more than twice the old entry price. Many review pages still quote Surgent at $799, so this page sets out what surgent.com sells today, what it costs, and what a price-driven candidate should look at instead.

Surgent no longer sells its own CPA review course. Surgent is now part of UWorld, and on October 13, 2026 the CPA page on surgent.com sold UWorld CPA Review instead, at what it calls an exclusive Surgent price: Premier $1,999 (list $3,499) with 18 months of access, Elite-Unlimited $2,299 (list $3,899) with access until you pass, and Elite-Unlimited+ $2,899 (list $4,699) with a per-section pass guarantee. The old Surgent packages at $799, $1,299 and $1,699 are gone, and existing Surgent CPA customers are told to contact support about their access. If you were shopping Surgent for its price, the cheapest routes now are NINJA at $67 or $87 a month and the Gleim Mega Test Bank at $999. Aspirants.ai is the practice layer next to any of them: an AI tutor from $24 a month billed yearly that writes fresh CPA questions and explains every answer choice.
What surgent.com sells for the CPA exam today
The CPA page on surgent.com is now headed CPA Exam Review, Now Through UWorld, and states that Surgent is part of UWorld. It lists three UWorld CPA Review packages with a struck-through list price and an exclusive Surgent price that is applied automatically in the cart. Premier is $1,999 against a $3,499 list and gives 18 months of access to the four core sections. Elite-Unlimited is $2,299 against $3,899 and adds unlimited access until you pass. Elite-Unlimited+ is $2,899 against $4,699 and adds a money-back pass guarantee per section if its requirements are met. UWorld also offers single-section access and a free trial with no credit card. The page says Surgent EA Review, Surgent Income Tax School and Surgent CPE are unaffected and still sold by Surgent.

What happened to the $799 Surgent course
As recently as September 2026 Surgent listed three CPA packages of its own: Essentials at $799, Premier at $1,299 and Ultimate at $1,699, each with unlimited access until you pass, the A.S.A.P. adaptive engine and the ReadySCORE predicted score. Those packages are no longer offered to new buyers. The page describes UWorld CPA Review as combining Surgent's technology heritage with UWorld's content, and the adaptive piece UWorld sells is called SmartPath. For someone who already owns Surgent CPA Review, the site says access details are being communicated separately and directs questions to Surgent Support. The practical result for a new candidate is that the cheapest full course with until-you-pass access went from $799 to $2,299.

The Fresh Start price for switchers
One more figure appears on the same page. Under a heading about UWorld's Fresh Start Program, the Elite-Unlimited package is shown at $1,299 against the $3,899 list. Fresh Start is for candidates who can prove they bought another provider's full course for $1,000 or more; UWorld then sends a discount code. So a candidate who already paid for Becker, Gleim or the old Surgent course and wants to switch may be able to get until-you-pass access for $1,299. The page does not spell out every condition, so confirm the code and the final price in the cart before relying on it.

What to buy if you wanted Surgent for the price
Three options now sit where Surgent used to. NINJA CPA Review is $67 a month for its Supplement or $87 a month for the Full Course with lectures, covering one section at a time; a candidate who finishes in a year pays $804 or $1,044. Gleim sells its CPA Mega Test Bank for $999 with 18 months of access and the same 12,000-plus questions as its $2,499 course, without the lectures. And UWorld Premier through surgent.com is $1,999 if you want video lectures and can finish in 18 months. Becker Advantage starts at $2,499. None of the budget options has the unlimited access that made the old Surgent Essentials package attractive, so the honest trade is a lower price in return for a deadline.

If you want video lectures and detailed answer explanations, Premier at $1,999 is $500 under Becker Advantage, with 18 months of access instead of 24. Pay the extra $300 for Elite-Unlimited if there is any chance you will need longer, because it runs until you pass. The pass guarantee is only on the $2,899 package.
Since the 2024 CPA Evolution the exam has three Core sections, Auditing (AUD), Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) and Regulation (REG), plus one Discipline section you choose from Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR), Information Systems and Controls (ISC) or Tax Compliance and Planning (TCP). Each section is four hours and you need a 75 to pass. Most state boards now give you 30 months from your first passed section to pass the rest, so check your own board.
