A PANRE review course costs anywhere from $79 for a one-month question bank to $4,200 for a two-year coached program in 2026, and most practicing PAs pay $475 to $650. Blueprint (formerly Rosh Review) charges $499 for its PANRE/PANRE-LA Qbank with 100 CME credits for three months, $529 for twelve and $649 for two years, and $475 for its four-day live course. CME Review Courses charges $499.99 for 30 months, Hippo $325 a year for video or $495 with its Qbank, and Challenger $269 a year. NCCPA's own fee is $350 for either PANRE or PANRE-LA. Prices were read from each vendor's site on October 2, 2026.
The people who search this are not students. They are PA-Cs in year 6 to 10 of their certification cycle, usually with an employer CME allowance, deciding which course to put it toward this quarter. The pages ranking for the phrase are almost all vendor product pages, plus an older qbank comparison whose prices are now out of date for every vendor it checks. So here are the numbers as they stand, side by side, and what each one actually buys you.
PANRE review course cost by vendor
| Vendor and product | Price | Access | Questions | CME |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blueprint PANRE/PANRE-LA Qbank | $499 / $529 / $649 | 3 months / 12 months / 2 years | 2,000 | 100 AMA PRA Category 1 |
| Blueprint Qbank bundle with The Bolus | $609 / $649 / $759 | 3 months / 12 months / 2 years | 3,000 | 100 AMA PRA Category 1 |
| Blueprint PANRE Live Review Course | $475 | 4 days live, 90 days of recordings | 970 | 20 AAPA Category 1 (via the AAPA self-assessment qbank) |
| CME Review Courses PANRE or PANRE-LA course | $499.99 (plus optional gift card) | 30 months | 2,500+, including 5 mock exams | Up to 100 AAPA Category 1 |
| Hippo PANCE/PANRE Review (video) | $325 a year | 12 months | Video course | Up to 73 AAPA Category 1 |
| Hippo Review plus AAPA PA Qbank | $495 (list $620) | 12 months | 2,250+ | Video credits plus up to 189 Self-Assessment |
| Challenger PA review | $26 a month, $269 a year or $939 lifetime | Monthly, yearly or lifetime | 5,375 | 180 AMA PRA and 180 AAPA Category 1 |
| BoardVitals PANCE/PANRE qbank | $79 / $139 / $199 | 1 / 3 / 6 months | 1,650+ | None mentioned |
| CME4Life iPANRE Precision | $799 to $3,049 | Not stated | Not stated | 12.25 AAPA Category 1 |
| CME4Life PANRE-LA 2 Year Journey | $4,200 | 24 months of weekly sessions | 1,000+ | Category 2 only |
Two things jump out. First, Blueprint's 12-month Qbank is only $30 more than its 3-month one, and the two-year version is $150 more, the same pattern its PANCE Qbank pricing follows, where twelve months cost $30 more than three. Second, the cost per Category 1 credit varies more than the sticker price does. Challenger at $269 a year with 180 credits works out to about $1.50 per credit; Blueprint's $529 Qbank with 100 credits is about $5.30; CME4Life's $4,200 program carries no Category 1 credit at all.
What the PANRE itself costs
The course sits on top of NCCPA's fees, not instead of them. The PANRE and PANRE-LA each cost $350, and the certification maintenance fee is $180 for every two-year cycle, due by December 31 of the year your cycle ends. Over a ten-year certification that is five maintenance fees ($900) plus one exam fee ($350), or $1,250 paid to NCCPA before you buy any prep. You also log 100 CME credits per two-year cycle, at least 50 of them Category 1, which is why the CME bundled into a review course is worth real money.
PANRE or PANRE-LA changes which course is worth buying
The format you choose decides how long you need access. The traditional PANRE is one sitting of 240 questions in four 60-minute blocks at a Pearson VUE center in year 9 or 10, so a three- or twelve-month qbank timed to your test date is enough. PANRE-LA runs for 12 quarters across years 7 to 9, with 25 questions a quarter, five minutes each and references allowed. A course with 3 months of access covers one quarter of a three-year process. If you chose PANRE-LA, the useful products are the long ones: Blueprint's two-year Qbank at $649, CME Review Courses at 30 months for $499.99, or a reference you can keep open during each quarter, such as Hippo's PANRE-LA Reference Guide at $100 for one year, $180 for two or $255 for three. If you have not decided between the two, the PANRE vs PANRE-LA comparison walks through the scoring rules first.
Which PANRE review course is best for a busy PA-C?
For most practicing PAs sitting the traditional PANRE, the best value is a question bank with Category 1 CME, not a live course. Blueprint's 12-month Qbank at $529 carries 2,000 questions written to the NCCPA blueprint and 100 credits, which covers the CME for a whole two-year cycle. A PA who learns better from lectures should pick Hippo's $495 bundle, which pairs about 63 hours of video with a 2,250-question bank. A PA who wants the most questions per dollar should look at Challenger's $269 yearly plan with 5,375 questions. A live course makes sense mainly for someone who failed once, or who will not study unless a schedule forces it.
Is a PANRE live review course worth $475?
Blueprint's live course is worth $475 if you need four structured days and want the guarantee, and not otherwise. It runs four days of live online instruction, 30 hours in total, with two instructors on camera, 970 practice questions, a diagnostic exam, daily assessments and a full mock exam, plus the AAPA self-assessment qbank with 20 Category 1 credits. Recordings stay available for 90 days. Sessions are listed for October 19 to 22, October 26 to 29, November 16 to 19, November 30 to December 3, December 7 to 10 and January 25 to 28. It is cheaper than a qbank, but it gives you a fifth of the CME.
What the pass guarantees really require
Almost every vendor advertises a pass guarantee, and the terms decide whether it is worth anything.
- Blueprint Qbank: if you do not pass, a full refund of the original Qbank, but only after you complete 100% of it, or a six-month extension instead. First-time learners and direct purchases only, score report within 90 days. Outside the guarantee, PA Qbanks are final sale.
- Blueprint live course: attend every session in full, take the diagnostic, every daily assessment and the mock, and score at least 65% on every block of the mock. Then re-enrollment or a full refund. Refunds otherwise only within three days of purchase and before the first session.
- CME Review Courses: a full money-back guarantee if you buy the full course and do not pass on the first attempt. No refund if your employer declines to reimburse you.
- CME4Life: on its packages, another course and a study cohort free until you pass, not money back. The PANRE-LA program promises money back if you do not pass.
- Challenger: a 7-day refund and a pass guarantee described as a full refund or extended access, without published eligibility terms.
- Hippo and BoardVitals: both advertise a pass guarantee; we found no written terms on either site, and Hippo's own footer says it cannot guarantee passing.
Gift cards, CME allowances and who actually pays
CME Review Courses sells its $499.99 course with an optional Amazon or Apple gift card added at face value, from $100 up to $1,500, and CME4Life offers $500 to $2,000 gift card add-ons on its packages. The model exists because many employers give PAs a yearly CME allowance, and a receipt for "PANRE review course" is easy to approve. Check your employer's policy before you buy that way: a gift card cannot be refunded once it is emailed, and CME Review Courses states that it does not refund a course because an employer refused to reimburse it. If you work as an independent contractor rather than an employee, review courses that maintain your current credential are generally a business expense, and it is worth keeping the receipts organized when you file your taxes with 1099 income.
Why older comparisons quote different prices
The most-linked comparison of PANRE question banks quotes Rosh Review at $309 to $349, Hippo at $340 to $390 and BoardVitals at $119 to $169. None of those is the current price. The Rosh Review PA products are now sold by Blueprint, and the PANRE Qbank starts at $499 with CME included; Hippo's qbank is $295 a year on its own; BoardVitals now charges $139 for three months and $199 for six. Budget from the vendor's checkout, not from a review.
Where Aspirants.ai fits
Every product above is a fixed bank or a fixed course. Once you have worked through it, you are rereading questions you remember, and that stops telling you anything about your readiness. Aspirants.ai writes new PANRE-style clinical vignettes on the organ systems and task areas where you are weakest, explains every answer choice and answers follow-up questions at any hour, from $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month. It does not carry CME and it is not a source of NCCPA items, so use it next to your CME qbank, especially in the last weeks before a PANRE sitting or between PANRE-LA quarters. You can start with PANRE practice questions in the tool at the top of this page.
