A Quimbee subscription costs $23 a month billed yearly, which is $276 up front, or $33 a month billed monthly. That Study Aids plan covers the case briefs, video lessons, online outlines, 7,900+ flashcards and 7,000+ multiple-choice questions. A downloadable PDF outline is $29 extra per subject. For the bar, Quimbee now sells SideBar Videos at $550 for 12 months, a supplement rather than a full course. Subscriptions renew automatically, and canceling stops the next charge but does not refund the rest of the term. Prices were read from quimbee.com on October 1, 2026.

Most people looking up the Quimbee price are a week into 1L with a casebook they cannot get through, or a 3L deciding what to add to a bar course they already paid for. Both want the number before the free trial runs out. The pages that rank for it are Quimbee's own pricing pages, a review aggregator, a 2018 blog post and a couple of affiliate reviews, and none of them does the arithmetic on yearly versus monthly or says what happened to Quimbee Bar Review. That is what this page is for.

The yearly plan saves 30% against twelve monthly payments, which Quimbee advertises on its pricing page. The outlines are included online with the subscription; the $29 is only for a PDF you can keep and print after you cancel.

Quimbee yearly or monthly, and the break-even month

Twelve months at $33 is $396, so the yearly plan saves $120 if you use Quimbee all year. The catch is that law school does not run all year. Eight monthly payments come to $264, which is less than the $276 yearly charge. Nine come to $297, which is more. So the break-even sits between month eight and month nine.

That makes the choice simple. A 1L who will use case briefs from August through the end of spring exams in May is looking at ten months, and the yearly plan wins by $54. A 2L who only wants help with one hard course, say Evidence in the fall, should pay monthly for four months, spend $132 and cancel. Do not buy the yearly plan to try it out: the terms say that when you cancel, Quimbee stops billing but does not refund the rest of a term you have already paid for, and access ends when that term runs out.

What the Quimbee free trial actually includes

The trial is 7 days, and the terms allow one free trial per person, with a warning that extra accounts made to claim more trials can get you cut off. During the trial you can open up to 10 case briefs, so it is a sample of the briefs rather than a week of full use. The rest of the library is open during the trial. Because the paid plan renews automatically once the trial ends, put a reminder in your calendar for day six if you are not sure yet.

Quimbee bar prep cost in 2026

Quimbee used to sell a full bar course. Its terms of service, dated July 11, 2024, still describe a money-back guarantee on Quimbee Bar Review Premium and Bar Review+. The pricing page no longer lists either one. Under Bar Exam it sells a single product, Quimbee SideBar Videos, at $550 for 12 months of access, and the old Bar Review+ public-interest pricing page now returns a 404. Quimbee's own FAQ says the videos are designed to complement a bar course, not replace it.

For $550 you get 200+ short videos, five to seven minutes each, covering every subject on the UBE and the California and Florida exams, with a three-question quiz after each video, 800+ multiple-choice questions in total, plus NextGen-style content. If you are on Barbri Elite, check your account first: Elite bundles Quimbee videos together with the AdaptiBar MCQ simulator and Critical Pass flashcards. Quimbee now signs users in through a Barbri account, which tells you who owns it.

Set against the other bar supplements, $550 is at the top of the range. The AdaptiBar MCQ Simulator is $495 for a session of licensed MBE questions. Critical Pass flashcards cost $135 to $295 depending on the edition and whether you want paper. If your problem is applying rules under time pressure rather than understanding them, a question bank does more for the MBE than videos do. Our comparison of AdaptiBar and the UWorld MBE QBank covers that choice.

Is Quimbee worth it for law school?

For a 1L reading a casebook Quimbee covers, usually yes. The case briefs are keyed to more than 1,000 casebooks, and the time saved on cold-call preparation is worth more than $23 a month in the first semester. It is worth less if your professors build exams around their own hypotheticals rather than the cases, because briefs help you follow class and do little for issue spotting. The 210+ issue spotters with model answers are the part of the plan that does help there.

It is a weak buy in two cases. If your law school already pays for institutional access, which Quimbee sells to schools under separate agreements, you are paying twice; ask the library before you subscribe. And if you only want outlines, buying two or three $29 PDFs is cheaper than a year of the subscription.

Is Quimbee worth it for the bar exam?

Quimbee helps on the bar as an explainer. When a rule in your bar course will not stick, a five-minute illustrated video often fixes it faster than rereading an outline. It does not replace a bar course and it is not a large licensed question bank: 800+ quiz questions against 1,600 or more in the dedicated MBE banks. If you have a Study Aids subscription left over from law school, its 7,900+ flashcards and 7,000+ questions cover the MBE and MEE subjects already, which may be enough without paying $550 for SideBar on top. Our Barbri alternatives page has the full course prices if you are still choosing the main course.

Where Aspirants.ai fits next to Quimbee

Quimbee explains the rule. The MBE tests whether you can find that rule inside a fact pattern with four plausible answers. Aspirants.ai writes new MBE-style fact patterns on the subject you keep missing, explains every answer choice, and answers your follow-up questions at any hour. It costs from $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month, and you can try it on bar exam practice questions before you pay. It is not a source of licensed NCBE questions, so use it next to your course bank, not instead of it.

Quimbee's case briefs stop being useful after graduation. Practicing lawyers who need the full opinion and the cases that cite it move to AI legal research software built for law firms, which is a different purchase from anything in a student's budget.
