AdaptiBar cost and pricing, $495 for the MCQ Simulator before add-ons

AdaptiBar is a supplement, not a bar course, so most people buy it on top of $2,000 or more of tuition and want the real total before they click. The headline price is only the start. What you pay depends on whether you have used AdaptiBar before, how early you want access, and which add-ons end up in the cart. This page lists every figure AdaptiBar publishes for the bar candidate who is about to buy.

  • Freshly generated MBE-style questions on the subject you keep missing
  • Every answer choice explained, plus follow-up questions at any hour

The short answer

AdaptiBar costs $495 for the MCQ Simulator for one bar exam session, and $495 for the MCQ Simulator for Retakers. Returning AdaptiBar users pay $395. Early Access adds $150, the seven-subject video lecture bundle adds $295 with an enrollment ($395 alone), and the Mastering the MBE video is another $95, so a full order reaches $1,035. The Writing Guide is $295 and CriticalPass flashcards run $135 to $295. AdaptiBar does not give refunds. Prices were read from adaptibar.com on September 30, 2026. Many pages, including a competitor comparison, still quote $395 for new users. The UWorld MBE QBank costs $449. Aspirants.ai is the low-cost add-on: an AI tutor from $24 a month billed yearly that writes new MBE-style questions on the subject you keep missing.

What AdaptiBar charges today

AdaptiBar sells four core programs. The MCQ Simulator, for the MBE or the NextGen UBE, is $495. The MCQ Simulator for Retakers, which the product page labels MBE only, is also $495 and adds a level-setting diagnostic exam and coaching videos. The Writing Guide for the UBE or California is $295, and the Writing Guide for Retakers is $395. The California Baby Bar (FYLSE) program is $295 per session. Each purchase covers one exam session, not a calendar year, and checkout now runs through a Barbri account because AdaptiBar is part of the Barbri group.

  • MCQ Simulator (MBE or NextGen UBE): $495
  • MCQ Simulator for Retakers (MBE only): $495
  • Writing Guide: $295, Writing Guide for Retakers: $395
  • Baby Bar (FYLSE) program: $295 per session

Why you still see $395 quoted everywhere

Search for the AdaptiBar price and most results say $395. That figure is real, but it is no longer the new-user price. AdaptiBar takes $100 off for returning or current users, so a past user re-enrolls in the MCQ Simulator or the Retakers version for $395, and in the Writing Guide for Retakers for $295. The discount shows only after you sign in. A first-time buyer pays $495. UWorld's own comparison page still lists AdaptiBar at $395 and its own question bank at $419, while UWorld's buy page charged $449 on September 30, 2026. Use the number on the buy button, not the one in a review.

  • New user: $495 for the MCQ Simulator
  • Returning or current user: $395, shown after sign-in
  • Review sites and one competitor page still quote $395 as the new price

The add-ons that push an order past $1,000

Three add-ons sit next to the simulator at checkout. Early Access is $150 per early session and opens your account before the session start date. The video lecture bundle covers all seven MBE subjects across 35 subtopics with 12 months of access and costs $395 alone or $295 when you hold a Simulator or Writing Guide enrollment. Single subjects are $95 each. The Mastering the MBE strategy video is $95 and is not part of the bundle. Add all of them to a first-time Simulator and the order is $1,035. Add the Writing Guide and it is $1,330.

  • Early Access: $150 per early session
  • Video bundle, 7 subjects: $395, or $295 with an enrollment
  • Single video subject: $95, Mastering the MBE: $95
  • Simulator plus every MBE add-on: $1,035

Access windows, and when Early Access is worth $150

AdaptiBar sells access by bar exam session. The February session runs August 1 to February 28, about seven months. The July session runs March 1 to July 31, five months. You can enroll any time inside the window, but the end date does not move, so a late buyer pays the same $495 for less time. Early Access only matters if you want to start before your window opens, for example a July taker who wants to begin in January. If you fail and sit again, the next session is a new purchase at the returning price of $395.

  • February session: August 1 to February 28
  • July session: March 1 to July 31
  • A second session costs $395 as a returning user

How many questions $495 buys

AdaptiBar's help center puts the MCQ Simulator at 1,608 questions. Most are real MBE questions licensed from the NCBE. The rest are simulated questions written by its legal team: a help article counts 197 in Civil Procedure and 15 in Real Property, which leaves roughly 1,400 licensed questions. The product page adds that all 160 multiple-choice questions from the four NCBE NextGen practice sets are included. Every question has an explanation for each answer choice. AdaptiBar's own benchmark is that 1,300 questions answered at 70% accuracy roughly equals a raw MBE score of 140, so most users never exhaust the bank.

  • 1,608 questions across 7 MBE subjects
  • Roughly 1,400 licensed from the NCBE, about 212 simulated
  • 160 licensed NextGen multiple-choice questions included
  • Benchmark: 1,300 questions at 70% accuracy

Promo codes, discounts and the no-refund rule

AdaptiBar's help center says it has no public discounts and points buyers to their law school, which may hold a subsidized rate or a school code. Only one code applies per new enrollment, and codes do not apply to re-enrollments, Early Access or video lectures unless stated. Military members get 20% off the MCQ Simulator, Writing Guide and Baby Bar products after emailing proof of service, which brings the Simulator to $396. There is no refund at all: AdaptiBar says its licensing agreement with the NCBE prevents refunds. It also publishes no bar pass rate and no pass guarantee, so a coupon site promising 50% off is not quoting the vendor.

  • No public promo codes, ask your law school for a code
  • Military: 20% off, $396 for the Simulator
  • One code per new enrollment, none on add-ons
  • No refunds and no pass guarantee

AdaptiBar or UWorld MBE QBank on price

The UWorld MBE QBank is the closest rival. On September 30, 2026 it cost $449 for the February 2027 exam with immediate access through February 26, 2027, $449 for the July 2027 exam with access from March 1, 2027, and $549 for July 2027 with immediate access. That is $46 under AdaptiBar at the session price and $96 under AdaptiBar plus Early Access. UWorld includes a self-assessment, flashcards and a notebook. AdaptiBar's edge is the adaptive algorithm that keeps feeding your weakest subtopics. UWorld's question count is harder to pin down: its buy page says 1,900+ with 1,150+ licensed, its comparison page says 2,000+ with 1,350+, and the page footer says 1,816 with 1,575+.

  • UWorld MBE QBank: $449 by session, $549 early prep
  • AdaptiBar: $495 by session, $645 with Early Access
  • UWorld publishes three different question counts

When a full bar course already includes it

Before paying $495, check what your bar course bundles. Barbri Elite, at $3,099 on September 29, 2026, includes the AdaptiBar simulator, the AdaptiBar Writing Guide, CriticalPass flashcards and Quimbee videos, and it costs $1,000 more than Barbri Premium. Bought separately, the Simulator, Writing Guide and UBE CriticalPass cards list at $1,085 before Quimbee. Themis includes the UWorld MBE QBank in its $1,895 course. If you are on Barbri Premium or another course and only want licensed MBE practice, the standalone Simulator is the cheaper route. If you would buy all three supplements anyway, Elite is about even.

  • Barbri Elite ($3,099) bundles AdaptiBar, Writing Guide, CriticalPass, Quimbee
  • Same three AdaptiBar-family items bought alone: $1,085
  • Themis ($1,895) includes the UWorld MBE QBank

Where Aspirants.ai fits next to AdaptiBar

AdaptiBar and UWorld sell a fixed bank of licensed questions for one exam session. Licensed questions are the right core of MBE practice. What a fixed bank cannot do is write a new question on the one rule you keep missing, such as hearsay exceptions or future interests, after you have memorized the licensed ones, and then answer your follow-up at midnight. Aspirants.ai does that from $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month, with no session window. Use it next to AdaptiBar to drill weak subtopics, or between sessions if you are waiting to retake. It is not a source of licensed NCBE questions.

  • Freshly generated questions on your weakest MBE subtopic
  • Every answer choice explained, follow-ups at any hour
  • From $24/mo billed yearly, cancel any time

AdaptiBar costs $495 for the MCQ Simulator for one bar exam session if you are a new user, and $395 if you have used AdaptiBar before. Early Access is $150, the video lecture bundle is $295 with an enrollment, and the Writing Guide is $295. Prices read from adaptibar.com on September 30, 2026.

AdaptiBar is worth it if your bar course does not already include a large bank of NCBE-licensed MBE questions and your MBE practice scores sit under 70%. It is poor value if you bought Barbri Elite, which bundles it, or Themis, which includes the UWorld MBE QBank with a similar pool of licensed questions.

AdaptiBar says it has no public discounts and tells buyers to ask their law school, which may have a school code or subsidized rate. Military members get 20% off with proof of service. Only one code applies per new enrollment, and codes do not cover Early Access or video lectures.

UWorld is cheaper at $449 against $495 and includes flashcards, a notebook and a self-assessment. AdaptiBar has the adaptive algorithm that targets your weakest subtopics and a published count of 1,608 questions. The two license largely the same NCBE questions, so you do not need both.

AdaptiBar's help center lists 1,608 questions in the MCQ Simulator. About 212 are simulated questions written by its legal team, 197 in Civil Procedure and 15 in Real Property, and the rest are licensed from the NCBE. The 160 licensed NextGen multiple-choice questions are also included.

No. AdaptiBar states it cannot offer refunds because of its licensing agreement with the National Conference of Bar Examiners. It also has no pass guarantee. If you fail and sit again, you re-enroll for the next session at the returning-user price of $395.

Access follows the bar exam session you pick. The February session runs from August 1 to February 28 and the July session from March 1 to July 31. Early Access costs $150 and opens the account before the session starts. Video lectures come with 12 months of access.

AdaptiBar is included in Barbri Elite, which cost $3,099 on September 29, 2026 and also bundles the AdaptiBar Writing Guide, CriticalPass flashcards and Quimbee videos. It is not included in Barbri Premium at $2,099, where it is an extra purchase.

Re-enrolling in the AdaptiBar MCQ Simulator for another session costs $395, which is the $495 price less the $100 returning-user discount. The Retakers version is also $395 for past users, and the Writing Guide is $295. Sign in with your old account to see the price.
