The short answer

UWorld sells MCAT prep in three packages, each with 90, 180 or 360 days of access. The MCAT QBank costs $339, $389 or $439. The Core Prep Course (QBank, 8 print and digital books, 2 UWorld practice exams) costs $599, $649 or $699. The Comprehensive Prep Course adds 1,300+ video lessons, the 7 official AAMC practice exams and the AAMC Prep Hub for $1,199, $1,449 or $1,549. The books alone are $289. Renewals run from $29 for 7 days to $259 for 360 days, but only before your plan expires. Refunds are possible within one week and 10% usage, minus a 10% fee, and redeeming the AAMC material adds a $140 or $300 charge. Prices were read from gradschool.uworld.com on September 27, 2026. Aspirants.ai is the cheaper piece to add next to any of them: an AI tutor from $24 a month billed yearly that writes fresh MCAT questions on the exact topic you keep missing.

What each UWorld MCAT package includes

The three packages share the same core: the 3,000+ question MCAT QBank with UWorld's illustrated explanations, the UAsk AI tutor, the adaptive study planner, performance analytics and the mobile app. The QBank card also lists a UWorld MCAT practice exam. The Core Prep Course adds the 8 UBooks (6 science review books and 2 CARS strategy books, in print and digital), 450 concept check questions and two full-length UWorld MCAT practice exams. The Comprehensive Prep Course adds four more things, and they are the four items UWorld marks with a cross on the Core column: 1,300+ high-yield video lessons, the 7 official AAMC MCAT practice exams, the AAMC Prep Hub resources (listed by UWorld at a $405 value) and 4,000 flashcard quiz questions. If you already own the AAMC bundle, most of the gap between Core and Comprehensive is the video library.

  • QBank: 3,000+ questions, UAsk AI tutor, planner, analytics, a practice exam
  • Core: QBank plus 8 print and digital UBooks, 450 concept checks, 2 UWorld full-lengths
  • Comprehensive: Core plus 1,300+ videos, 7 AAMC exams, AAMC Prep Hub, 4,000 flashcard questions
  • Books alone: $289 with 180 days of digital access

The cheapest way to buy each combination

Two pieces of arithmetic change what most people should buy. First, the QBank ($339 for 90 days) plus the books ($289) comes to $628, which is $29 more than the 90-day Core course at $599, and the Core course also carries the concept checks and two practice exams. If you want the books and the QBank, buy Core. Second, Core at $599 plus the AAMC Online-Only Bundle at its $405 regular price is $1,004, against $1,199 for 90 days of Comprehensive. That $195 difference is what you pay for the 1,300+ videos and the flashcard quiz questions. Students who learn content from the books and only want AAMC practice at the end usually do better buying Core and the AAMC bundle separately. The AAMC store listed the bundle at $336.15 against the $405 regular price this month, and it was out of stock from September 14 to 29 while AAMC added its new CARS Question Bank, returning September 30.

  • QBank + books separately: $628. Core course, 90 days: $599
  • Core $599 + AAMC bundle $405 = $1,004. Comprehensive, 90 days: $1,199
  • Videos and flashcard questions are what the extra $195 buys

180 or 360 days and the renewal math behind each

The 90-day plans look cheapest, but UWorld's renewal prices decide whether that holds. A 90-day QBank at $339 plus a 30-day renewal at $99 is $438 for 120 days, one dollar less than a full 360-day QBank at $439. A 90-day QBank plus a 90-day renewal is $488 for 180 days, which is $99 more than buying the 180-day plan for $389 up front. The same renewal ladder applies to the prep courses. The rule that catches people is timing: UWorld only offers renewal pricing on a subscription that has not expired yet. Miss the expiration date and you pay full price for a new plan. Renewals also start from your current expiration date, cannot be deferred, and do not extend access to the AAMC exams or the AAMC Prep Hub. The 180 and 360-day plans each include a one-time reset, so you can clear your question history and see the bank fresh before test day.

  • Renewals: 7 days $29, 15 days $59, 30 days $99, 90 days $149, 180 days $199, 360 days $259
  • Renew before expiry or pay full price again
  • Renewals do not extend AAMC exam or Prep Hub access
  • 180 and 360-day plans include a one-time reset

Activation, pausing and financing

A UWorld subscription starts when you activate it, not when you pay. You can buy during a sale and activate later, and UWorld recommends activating within 180 days of purchase. Once active, a plan cannot be paused or suspended for any reason, so a semester that turns out busier than expected still uses up access days. If you bought books and a QBank together, each part can be activated on its own schedule. UWorld offers financing through Affirm at checkout, which runs a soft credit check and requires a US bank account. There is also a 7-day free trial of the Comprehensive Prep Course with no credit card, which is the cheapest way to check whether UWorld explanations suit you before committing $339 or more.

The refund rules, and the two fees nobody mentions

UWorld evaluates MCAT refund requests case by case. A course bought within one week of activation or of receiving printed material, whichever is earlier, can be refunded if you have used no more than 10% of it across videos, QBank, flashcards and UBooks combined. A 10% cancellation fee applies, with a $10 minimum, shipping is deducted, and printed books must come back in new condition before the refund is processed. The part that surprises Comprehensive buyers is the AAMC material: if you have redeemed any AAMC practice exam, UWorld charges a $140 activation fee on the refund, and if you clicked into the AAMC Prep Hub, the fee is $300. So opening the AAMC tab on day one to look around can cost you $300 if you later ask for your money back. Leave it closed until you are sure the course is staying.

  • Refund window: one week, no more than 10% used
  • Cancellation fee: 10%, minimum $10, plus shipping
  • AAMC exam redeemed: $140 fee. AAMC Prep Hub opened: $300 fee

How many questions are really in the UWorld MCAT QBank

UWorld markets the MCAT QBank as 3,000+ questions on every product card. Directly under the purchase grid on its MCAT and QBank pages, the fine print reads "Total QBank Questions: 1,816", next to a note that counts are informational and change as questions are updated. The two figures probably count different things, for example passages and discrete items against individual questions, but UWorld does not say. If you are comparing banks on raw volume, treat the gap as a reason to use the 7-day trial and look at the bank yourself. Blueprint advertises 5,000+ Qbank questions, and its own comparison table still says UWorld offers one full-length exam "only with a course", which is out of date: UWorld now lists two full-length practice exams in the Core and Comprehensive courses.

UWorld vs Blueprint vs the AAMC bundle on price

Blueprint sells MCAT Practice Tests and Qbank at $99 a month or $299 for 6 months, with 5 full-length exams plus one free, 5,000+ Qbank questions and an AI tutor called Blue. All Blueprint practice test sales are final. Its Self-Paced course was advertised from $999 against a $1,499 regular price on its MCAT homepage this month, Live Online from $1,999 and the 515+ course from $2,399 (regular $2,999). The AAMC Online-Only Bundle, the only source of official retired-style questions, is $405 at regular price for one year. For most students the realistic budget is the AAMC bundle plus one third-party bank: about $744 with UWorld's 90-day QBank, or $704 with Blueprint's 6-month plan, on top of the $355 MCAT registration fee.

Where Aspirants.ai fits

None of these packages writes a new question when you run out of the ones on a topic you keep missing, and none of them will answer "why is C wrong" at 1 a.m. beyond the fixed explanation. Aspirants.ai does both. It is an AI tutor that generates fresh MCAT-style questions on the exact topic or passage type you choose, explains every answer choice and takes follow-up questions at any hour. It costs from $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month, so you can run it next to UWorld for the final 8 weeks and cancel after test day. Try the quiz at the top of this page on an MCAT topic to see the format before you pay for anything.

  • Fresh MCAT questions on your weakest topics

Honest answers

UWorld MCAT price, QBank vs course, renewals, answered straight.

The UWorld MCAT QBank costs $339 for 90 days, $389 for 180 days or $439 for 360 days when you buy the question bank on its own. That is the cheapest UWorld MCAT product, and it does not include the UBooks, the UWorld practice exams or the official AAMC material, which come with the Core and Comprehensive courses from $599 and $1,199.

UWorld MCAT costs $339, $389 or $439 for the QBank alone (90, 180 or 360 days), $599, $649 or $699 for the Core Prep Course, and $1,199, $1,449 or $1,549 for the Comprehensive Prep Course, read from UWorld's site on September 27, 2026. The printed and digital UBooks alone cost $289.

For most students the QBank is worth it, because its explanations teach the reasoning the MCAT tests. Whether the course is worth it depends on what you already own: if you have the AAMC bundle and prefer reading to videos, Core at $599 does the job, and Comprehensive mainly adds the 1,300+ videos.

Only the Comprehensive Prep Course does. It includes the 7 official AAMC practice exams and the AAMC Prep Hub resources, which UWorld values at $405. The QBank and the Core course do not, so you would buy the AAMC Online-Only Bundle separately.

Renewals cost $29 for 7 days, $59 for 15, $99 for 30, $149 for 90, $199 for 180 and $259 for 360 days. You must renew before your plan expires; after that UWorld only sells a new subscription at the regular price. Renewals do not extend AAMC access.

UWorld advertises 3,000+ MCAT-level questions. The fine print under its purchase grid reads "Total QBank Questions: 1,816". UWorld does not explain the difference, so use the 7-day free trial to judge the bank before buying.

Yes, within one week of activating or receiving books, if you have used no more than 10% of the course. UWorld keeps a 10% fee (minimum $10) and shipping, and charges $140 if you redeemed an AAMC exam or $300 if you opened the AAMC Prep Hub.

Yes. UWorld offers a 7-day free trial of the MCAT Comprehensive Prep Course with no credit card required. It is the cheapest way to test the explanations and the QBank interface before paying.

Blueprint is cheaper for practice alone: $299 buys 6 months of its Qbank and 5 full-lengths, against $389 for 180 days of UWorld's QBank. UWorld is cheaper as a course: Core at $599 includes books, while Blueprint's Self-Paced course was advertised from $999.

On activation, not on purchase. UWorld recommends activating within 180 days of buying, and once active the subscription cannot be paused, so activate when your study schedule actually starts.
