UWorld Step 2 CK price and UWorld Step 2 QBank cost by plan length
Most US students buy the Step 2 CK bank once, at the start of third year, and use it through every clerkship shelf and then for the boards. That makes the plan length the biggest money decision, and UWorld's grid makes it easy to get wrong: the self-assessments, the reset and the AI prompt allowance all change with the length, and the price you see in the app is not the price on the website. This page lists every UWorld Step 2 CK price we read from UWorld's own product page, what each plan adds, how renewals and refunds work, and what Amboss charges for the same exam, so you can match the plan to your clerkship calendar and test date.
- Fresh Step 2 CK style vignettes on the topic you just missed
- Every answer choice explained, plus follow-up questions after a long call day
- From $24/mo billed yearly or $49 month to month, next to the bank you keep

The short answer
The UWorld Step 2 CK QBank costs $349 for 30 days, $459 for 90 days, $519 for 180 days, $579 for 360 days and $749 for 730 days on medical.uworld.com, read on October 24, 2026. QBank Plus, which adds 500+ medical videos, is $99 more at every length. The 30-day plan includes no self-assessment, the 90-day plan one, the 180-day plan two and the 360 and 730 day plans all three, so the 360-day plan is the cheapest way to get every form. The same plans cost $150 to $250 more as in-app purchases.
What each UWorld Step 2 CK plan costs
UWorld sells the Step 2 CK QBank in five lengths. The 30-day plan is $349, 90 days is $459, 180 days is $519, 360 days is $579 and is marked most popular, and 730 days is $749. The price per extra day collapses as you go up: moving from 180 to 360 days costs $60 for six more months, and from 360 to 730 days costs $170 for another year. Every plan gives the full bank of 4,250+ Step 2 and shelf questions, the Shelf Exam Review mode, ReadyDecks flashcards, the Medical Library and the UAsk AI study assistant. What changes is the number of self-assessments, the reset, the Study Planner and the AI prompt limit, covered below.
- 30 days: $349
- 90 days: $459
- 180 days: $519
- 360 days: $579
- 730 days: $749
Which plans include the self-assessments
This is where buyers lose money. On the Step 2 CK grid, the 30-day plan includes no self-assessment, the 90-day plan includes one, the 180-day plan includes two, and the 360 and 730 day plans include all three. Bought on their own, each form is $50 for two weeks of access, or $120 for all three. So a student who buys the 90-day plan and then adds Forms 2 and 3 pays $559, which is $20 less than the 360-day plan that already includes all three forms, a one-time reset and 270 more days. A student who buys 30 days plus the three-form bundle pays $469, more than the 90-day plan. Each form has 160 questions that are not in the QBank, and UWorld lists standalone self-assessments as non-refundable.
- 30 days: no self-assessment
- 90 days: one form
- 180 days: two forms
- 360 and 730 days: all three
- Standalone: $50 each or $120 for three
Shelf exams and Step 2 CK on one subscription
UWorld splits its Step 2 bank into two modes. Shelf Review groups questions by clerkship, so during your surgery rotation you work surgery questions and review the matching explanations. Step 2 CK Review is the full mixed bank you switch to when the boards get close. Because both modes draw on the same questions, a question you use for a shelf is not available as a fresh one later, which is the main reason students buy a long plan with a reset. If you start the bank at the beginning of third year and sit Step 2 CK at the end of it, the 360-day plan covers both. If your school schedules Step 2 CK into fourth year, the 730-day plan at $749 is cheaper than a 360-day plan plus a 180-day renewal, which would cost $878.
- Shelf Review mode by clerkship
- Step 2 CK Review mode for the boards
- Same questions in both modes
- 730 days beats 360 plus a renewal
What the 180 and longer plans add beyond time
The 30 and 90 day cards are missing three things. First, the one-time reset, which clears your test history so you can do the bank again as unseen questions; it appears only on the 180, 360 and 730 day plans. Second, the Study Planner. Third, a larger UAsk allowance: up to 100 AI prompts on the 30-day plan, 250 on the 90-day plan and 1,000 on the longer ones. The reset matters most for shelf users. A student who works the bank by clerkship all year has seen most of it by the time Step 2 CK arrives, and the reset is what turns a used bank back into practice for the real exam. Note that using the reset ends any chance of a refund.
- One-time reset from 180 days up
- Study Planner from 180 days up
- UAsk prompts: 100, 250 or 1,000
- Reset cancels refund eligibility
QBank or QBank Plus for Step 2 CK
QBank Plus costs exactly $99 more at every length: $448 for 30 days, $558 for 90, $618 for 180, $678 for 360 and $848 for 730. The only thing it adds is Medical Videos, 500+ narrated videos that UWorld markets as a visual companion to the explanations. The self-assessments, reset and prompt limits are the same as the plain QBank at the same length. If you already use a video course for clerkships, such as OnlineMedEd or Boards and Beyond, the videos duplicate what you have. UWorld also offers an upgrade to Plus for $99 inside an active subscription, so there is no reason to pay for it up front.
- QBank Plus: $99 more at every length
- Adds 500+ medical videos only
- Skip it if you own a video course
- Upgrade later for $99
Why the UWorld app charges more for Step 2 CK
UWorld's listing in the US App Store shows in-app purchases of Step2 30 days at $499, 90 days at $659, 180 days at $749 and 360 days at $829, read on October 24, 2026. Against the website prices of $349, $459, $519 and $579, that is $150, $200, $230 and $250 more for the same lengths. UWorld's refund policy also says it cannot refund in-app purchases and sends you to Apple. The app is fine for studying on rotations. Buy the subscription on medical.uworld.com and log in to the app with the same account, and the subscription syncs to your phone.
- App Store 30 days: $499
- App Store 360 days: $829
- Website is $150 to $250 cheaper
- UWorld cannot refund in-app purchases
UWorld Step 2 CK renewal prices
If your exam moves, renew before your subscription expires, because renewal pricing only applies to an active subscription. UWorld lists USMLE QBank renewals at $49 for 7 days, $79 for 15, $139 for 30, $199 for 60, $249 for 90, $299 for 180 and $379 for 360 days. A 30-day renewal at $139 is $210 less than buying a new 30-day plan, so the date to watch is your expiration date, not your exam date. A self-assessment form renews for $30 for two weeks, and Biostatistics Review renews for $20. Renewals start from your current expiration date, cannot be deferred, and do not reset your test history.
- 7 days: $49
- 30 days: $139
- 90 days: $249
- 360 days: $379
- Only before the subscription expires
Refunds and the fine print
UWorld evaluates refunds case by case for products bought directly from it. Refunds are pro-rated by days elapsed or questions used, whichever is higher, so a student who has used 85% of the questions gets 15% back, and a processing fee of 10% with a $10 minimum comes off the result. There is no refund once you use the reset or answer every question, none for expired subscriptions, and none for self-assessments or in-app purchases. Requests must come within 360 days of purchase. UWorld offers no free trial or guest account, only a demo with sample questions. A subscription starts when you activate it, not when you pay.
- Pro-rated by days or questions, whichever is higher
- 10% processing fee, minimum $10
- No refund after a reset
- Self-assessments are non-refundable
UWorld Step 2 CK vs Amboss on price
Amboss sells Step 2 CK through its yearly membership: $298 for a year with one month of unlimited Qbank, $378 with six months, or $448 with twelve, each renewing at $149 a year unless you cancel, read from amboss.com on October 24, 2026. Amboss lists 4,100+ clinical questions for Step 2 CK and the shelves, a five-day free trial and a full refund within 30 days. Its Step 2 CK self-assessment is $49.99 on its own or included in its Student Life plan. On a twelve-month horizon Amboss is $131 cheaper than UWorld's $579 360-day plan, but UWorld includes three self-assessments and a reset in that price.
- Amboss 12-month Qbank: $448
- Amboss renews at $149 a year
- Amboss refund: full within 30 days
- UWorld 360 days: $579 with three forms
Which plan to buy for your clerkships and test date
Count from the day you start using the bank, not from your exam. Starting third year with Step 2 CK at the end of it, buy the $579 360-day plan: it has all three forms and the reset. Sitting Step 2 CK in fourth year, buy the $749 730-day plan. Buying only for a dedicated period under three months, the $459 90-day plan works, but if you want more than one form, the $519 180-day plan is the better buy. Avoid the $349 30-day plan unless you only need a last pass. Always buy on the website, and remember the $695 USMLE Step 2 CK fee is separate.
- Third year plus Step 2 CK: $579
- Step 2 CK in fourth year: $749
- Dedicated period only: $459 or $519
- Avoid 30 days plus forms

Honest answers
UWorld Step 2 CK price for the QBank, QBank Plus, self-assessments and renewals, answered straight.
The UWorld Step 2 CK QBank costs $349 for 30 days, $459 for 90, $519 for 180, $579 for 360 and $749 for 730 days on UWorld's website, read on October 24, 2026. QBank Plus, with 500+ videos, is $99 more at each length. Every plan includes the 4,250+ Step 2 and shelf questions.
$349 on the website for a new 30-day plan, or $499 as an in-app purchase on iPhone. The 30-day plan includes no self-assessment and no reset. If you already have an active subscription, a 30-day renewal costs $139 instead, as long as you renew before it expires.
It depends on the length. The 30-day plan includes none, the 90-day plan one, the 180-day plan two, and the 360 and 730 day plans all three. Standalone forms cost $50 each or $120 for all three, with two weeks of access each, and they are non-refundable.
Each UWorld Step 2 CK self-assessment form costs $50 for two weeks of access, and Forms 1 to 3 together cost $120. Each form has 160 questions that are not in the QBank and gives a score estimate. A form can be renewed for $30 for two more weeks.
For most third-year students, yes. It costs $579, only $60 more than 180 days, and includes all three self-assessments, a one-time reset and up to 1,000 UAsk prompts. Bought separately, the third form alone is $50, so the extra 180 days cost about $10.
Yes. UWorld organizes the Step 2 bank into Shelf Review, grouped by clerkship, and Step 2 CK Review, the full mixed bank. Both modes use the same questions, so questions used for a shelf are not fresh later. That is why students who use it all year buy a plan with the reset.
UWorld lists 4,250+ Step 2 and shelf exam questions on its Step 2 CK page, read October 24, 2026. The three self-assessments add 160 questions each that are not in the QBank. Amboss lists 4,100+ clinical questions for Step 2 CK and the shelves for comparison.
US App Store in-app purchases are $499 for 30 days, $659 for 90, $749 for 180 and $829 for 360, which is $150 to $250 more than the website. UWorld also cannot refund in-app purchases. Buy on medical.uworld.com and log in to the app with the same account.
Amboss is cheaper for a year: $448 for a membership with 12 months of unlimited Qbank against $579 for UWorld's 360-day QBank. But UWorld's price includes three self-assessments and a reset, while Amboss charges $49.99 for its Step 2 CK self-assessment unless you are on Student Life, and renews at $149 a year.
UWorld does not publish a standing student discount on its Step 2 CK page. The savings that are real are structural: buying on the website rather than in the app saves $150 to $250, a renewal is cheaper than a new plan, and many schools buy UWorld through its institutional program, so ask your school before you pay.
