Picmonic price and subscription cost for nursing, PA and medical school
Picmonic is the cartoon mnemonic library that half of every nursing cohort seems to have on their phone by the second semester, and most of them bought it without knowing that the price depends on which program you pick at checkout. A nursing student pays about a third of what a medical student pays for the same app, and the cheapest plan per month is not the one the page highlights. This page lists every Picmonic plan we could read for the programs US buyers actually choose, the bundles with TrueLearn question banks, the group-buy discount, and the conditions on the pass guarantee, so you can pick the plan before the card goes in.
- Fresh NCLEX, USMLE and PANCE questions on the topic the mnemonic did not make stick
- Ask a follow-up 24x7 when you remember the picture but not the mechanism
- One plan from $24/mo billed yearly or $49 month to month, next to whichever video library you keep
Questions are generated on each exam's current published format. Plans from $24/mo billed yearly, cancel anytime.

The short answer
Picmonic charges by program, not one flat price. Read from the pricing service behind picmonic.com on October 15, 2026, Picmonic for Nursing RN is $12.99 a month, $44.94 for six months, $67.08 a year or $100.56 for 24 months. Picmonic for Medicine is $24.99 a month or $179.88 a year, Physician Assistant $27.99 a month or $203.88 a year, and Nurse Practitioner $23.99 a month or $167.88 a year. Monthly, six-month and annual plans renew automatically; the 24-month plan is billed once.
What Picmonic costs for each program
Picmonic sells one library per program, and each library has its own price list. On October 15, 2026, the list prices returned by the same pricing service that fills the plan cards on picmonic.com were: Nursing RN and Nursing LPN $12.99 a month, $44.94 for six months, $67.08 a year and $100.56 for 24 months; Medicine (MD and DO) $24.99, $119.94, $179.88 and $287.76; Physician Assistant $27.99, $137.94, $203.88 and $323.76; Nurse Practitioner $23.99, $95.94, $167.88 and $263.76; Pharmacy $19.99, $71.94, $119.88 and $191.76; Paramedic $11.99, $47.94, $59.88 and $95.76. Certified Nursing Assistant is the odd one out at $9.99 a month, $29.94 for six months or $47.88 for a year, both longer terms billed once. The program you choose decides which library you can open, so a PA student cannot buy the cheaper nursing plan and get the PA content.
- Nursing RN and LPN: $12.99 a month
- Medicine: $24.99 a month
- Physician Assistant: $27.99 a month
- Nurse Practitioner: $23.99 a month
Which plan length is the best buy
The longer you commit, the less you pay per month, and the drop is steep. For nursing the monthly plan is $12.99, the six-month plan works out to $7.49 a month, the annual plan to $5.59 and the 24-month plan to $4.19. For medicine the same ladder runs $24.99, $19.99, $14.99 and $11.99. A nursing student who keeps the monthly plan for a full year pays $155.88, more than double the $67.08 annual price. The 24-month plan is the best value on paper and suits a student at the start of a two-year program, but it is the only plan that does not renew on its own, so it is also the only one you cannot forget to cancel. If your NCLEX or boards date is less than six months away, the six-month plan is the sensible buy.
- Nursing per month: $12.99, $7.49, $5.59, $4.19
- Medicine per month: $24.99, $19.99, $14.99, $11.99
- A year of monthly nursing billing costs $155.88
- 24 months is billed once and does not renew
What every paid plan includes
Every paid plan unlocks the whole library for its program; there are no feature tiers inside a program. Picmonic for Nursing RN lists 1,400+ mnemonic videos covering 17,000 facts with 17,000 multiple choice questions, daily spaced-repetition quizzes, NCLEX study guides, webinars and the iOS and Android apps. Picmonic for Medicine lists 2,000+ mnemonics and 24,000+ fact quizzes with USMLE Step 1, 2 and 3 resources, an Anki add-on and offline mode. The Physician Assistant library lists 1,900+ mnemonics and 22,000+ questions with PANCE and PANRE study guides. Videos run two to five minutes, which is the main practical difference from Sketchy's longer scenes. What you do not get is a board-style question bank: Picmonic's questions test whether you remember the facts in each picture, not whether you can work a clinical vignette.
- Full program library on every plan
- Nursing: 1,400+ mnemonics, 17,000 questions
- Medicine: 2,000+ mnemonics, 24,000+ quizzes
- Fact recall quizzes, not board vignettes
The TrueLearn bundles and what they really cost
At checkout Picmonic offers bundles with TrueLearn question banks, and they are where the price on your receipt can jump. Nursing RN plus TrueLearn's NCLEX-RN SmartBank is $59 for a month, $89.94 for six months, $109.04 for a year or $139 for 24 months of Picmonic with a year of the bank. Medicine plus TrueLearn USMLE Step 1 is $159 for a month, $369.54 for six months, $489.48 for a year and $523.04 for 24 months. PA plus TrueLearn PANCE is $99, $289.14, $369.50 or $429.44. These are real question banks, so the bundle can make sense if you have not chosen one yet. If your school already gives you UWorld, untick it.
- Nursing plus NCLEX SmartBank: $59 to $139
- Medicine plus Step 1 bank: $159 to $523.04
- PA plus PANCE bank: $99 to $429.44
- Skip the bundle if your school supplies a bank
Picmonic discounts that actually apply
Picmonic runs frequent sales. The one live until 5:00 UTC on October 15, 2026 took 10% off monthly plans and 25% off longer ones, which put the nursing annual plan at $50.31 and the medicine annual plan at $134.91, so it is worth checking the banner before paying list price. The standing discount is the group buy: launch or join a group and you get 15% off up front, then another 15% back if the group reaches five members within a week. The page markets that as 30% off for you and four friends, and it cannot be combined with other offers. There is also free access to the most popular videos, quiz questions and the daily quiz for five days, with no credit card required.
- Seasonal sales: 10% off monthly, 25% off longer plans
- Group buy: 15% up front plus 15% back at five members
- Five days of free access, no card needed
- Group buy does not stack with other offers
The Picmonic pass guarantee and its conditions
Picmonic offers a money-back promise, but it has conditions. For medicine, if you do not pass USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 3 or COMLEX Level 1, 2 or 3 within one year of your subscription's expiration date, Picmonic will give you a full refund or double your access for free. To qualify you need a subscription of three months or longer (the plan cards show the guarantee on six-month and longer plans, since no three-month plan is sold today), you must have learned at least 500 Picmonics before your test date, and you must send proof of results to Picmonic within 30 days of receiving them. The PA page makes the same refund-or-double promise for the PANCE and PANRE. Monthly subscribers are not covered.
- Refund or double access if you fail
- Six-month or longer plan required in practice
- 500 Picmonics learned before test day
- Proof of results within 30 days
Picmonic vs Sketchy on price
Picmonic is the cheaper of the two visual mnemonic libraries in every program. Sketchy Medical costs $349.99 for six months, $449.99 for 12 and $649.99 for 24, read from sketchy.com on October 15, 2026, against Picmonic for Medicine at $119.94, $179.88 and $287.76. Sketchy PA is $249.99, $349.99 or $399.99 for 15 months against Picmonic PA at $137.94 for six months or $203.88 a year, and Sketchy NP is $99.99 for three months, $149.99 for six or $249.99 for a year against Picmonic NP at $95.94 or $167.88. Picmonic's own comparison page still says Sketchy Medical costs $399.99 a year; Sketchy's checkout says $449.99. Sketchy's higher price buys a QBank and interactive patient cases, which Picmonic does not include.
- Medicine for a year: $179.88 vs $449.99
- PA for a year: $203.88 vs $349.99
- NP for a year: $167.88 vs $249.99
- Sketchy adds a QBank and patient cases
Where Aspirants.ai fits next to Picmonic
Picmonic is good at one job: making a drug side effect or a lab value stick. It does not tell you whether you can apply that fact in a four-option NCLEX or Step 1 question, and its quizzes only ask about the picture you just watched. Aspirants.ai writes new board-style questions on the exact topic you pick, explains every answer choice, and answers follow-up questions at any hour. Students keep both: Picmonic for memory, Aspirants.ai for practice once the mnemonic is in place. It costs from $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month, and you can cancel any time.
- New NCLEX, USMLE and PANCE questions on demand
- Every answer choice explained
- From $24/mo billed yearly, cancel any time

Honest answers
Picmonic price by program and plan length, bundles and the pass guarantee, answered straight.
Picmonic costs $12.99 a month or $67.08 a year for nursing, $24.99 a month or $179.88 a year for medicine, and $27.99 a month or $203.88 a year for physician assistant students, read from the pricing service behind picmonic.com on October 15, 2026. Six-month and 24-month plans cost less per month, and seasonal sales often cut 10% to 25%.
Picmonic for Nursing RN is $12.99 a month, $44.94 for six months, $67.08 a year or $100.56 for 24 months, and Nursing LPN is priced the same. That works out to $5.59 a month on the annual plan. The nursing library has 1,400+ mnemonic videos and 17,000 practice questions. Bundled with TrueLearn's NCLEX-RN SmartBank it is $59 to $139.
The monthly plan costs $9.99 for CNA, $11.99 for paramedic, $12.99 for nursing, $19.99 for pharmacy, $23.99 for nurse practitioner, $24.99 for medicine and $27.99 for physician assistant. On longer plans the effective monthly cost falls a lot: medicine drops from $24.99 to $14.99 on the annual plan and $11.99 on the 24-month plan.
For visual learners, usually yes, especially in nursing, where a year costs $67.08. It is worth it for memorizing pharmacology, microbiology and lab values. It is not a substitute for a board-style question bank, because its quizzes test recall of the picture rather than clinical reasoning. Most students pair it with UWorld, TrueLearn or an AI question generator.
Yes, the monthly, six-month and annual plans are recurring subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each term. The 24-month plan is billed once and does not renew, which is also the only term Picmonic lets you pay over time with Affirm. If you buy a recurring plan, set a reminder before the renewal date.
No, but it has a free tier for five days. Picmonic gives free access to its most popular videos, multiple choice quiz questions and the daily spaced-repetition quiz for five days without a credit card. The full library for your program requires a paid plan, starting at $9.99 a month for CNA and $12.99 for nursing.
Picmonic's prices are already student prices, and the standing discount is the group buy: 15% off immediately when you launch or join a group, plus another 15% back if five members join within a week. Seasonal sales, such as the fall sale that ended October 15, 2026, take 10% off monthly plans and 25% off longer ones. The two do not stack.
Yes, with conditions. If you fail USMLE, COMLEX, the PANCE or the PANRE within a year of your subscription ending, Picmonic offers a full refund or double access. For medicine you need a plan of three months or longer, at least 500 Picmonics learned before test day, and proof of results sent within 30 days. Monthly plans do not qualify.
Yes, in every program. A year of Picmonic for Medicine is $179.88 against $449.99 for Sketchy Medical, PA is $203.88 against $349.99, and NP is $167.88 against $249.99, read from both vendors on October 15, 2026. Sketchy costs more because it includes a QBank and interactive patient cases that Picmonic does not.
Yes. Monthly, six-month and annual plans are subscriptions, so the thing to do is cancel before the next renewal date and let the term you paid for run out. The 24-month plan does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. Refunds outside the pass guarantee are not described on the pricing pages, so assume the term you pay for is final.
