Smarty PANCE price by subscription length and what the QBank adds
Smarty PANCE is usually the first board review a PA student hears about, because its owner, Stephen Pasquini, PA-C, has been giving away daily PANCE questions and a podcast for years. The paid side is cheap enough that the real question is not whether you can afford it but which of the four passes to buy, and whether it can carry your whole prep or should sit next to a pricier bank. We read the sign-up page, the refund policy and the member FAQ on Smarty PANCE's own site and put the numbers next to Blueprint, UWorld and Hippo.

The short answer
Smarty PANCE costs $55 for a two-week pass, $65 for three months, $79 for one year, or $99 for one year with the ReelDx patient video library, read from smartypance.com on October 14, 2026. Every pass unlocks the same content: the 5,000+ question Smarty PANCE QBank, 14 NCCPA blueprint courses, seven End of Rotation exams and the audio and flashcard sets. The passes are fixed-term and do not renew on their own. Smarty PANCE refunds any purchase within 60 days, and refunds or extends access by 12 months if you fail the PANCE or PANRE.
What Smarty PANCE costs today
Smarty PANCE sells four all-access passes and they differ only in length, plus one add-on. The Two Week All Access Pass is $55, the Three Month pass is $65, the One Year pass is $79, and the One Year pass with ReelDx is $99. Those are the figures on the pricing table at smartypance.com/sign-up on October 14, 2026, and the page says the one-year membership is discounted for a limited time. The site states that every membership includes all End of Rotation, PANCE, PANRE and PANRE-LA courses, unlimited exams with retakes and full QBank access, so a cheaper pass does not lock you out of any content. It just ends sooner.
- Two weeks: $55
- Three months: $65
- One year: $79
- One year plus ReelDx: $99
Why the one-year pass is the one to buy
The price ladder is unusually flat. One year costs $24 more than two weeks and $14 more than three months, so it works out to about $6.58 a month against $21.67 a month on the three-month pass. The longer pass also protects you against the calendar. NCCPA lets you sit the PANCE only once in any 90-day period, so a candidate who fails on a three-month pass would usually be buying again before a retake. A year also covers the whole clinical year if you are still in school, which matters because the same pass includes the End of Rotation exams. The two-week pass makes sense only for a PA-C doing a final cram before PANRE.
- $14 more than three months buys nine extra months
- About $6.58 a month on the one-year pass
- Covers a retake 90 days later
- Two weeks suits a last-minute PANRE cram
What every Smarty PANCE pass includes
The headline item is the Smarty PANCE QBank, which the site describes as 5,000+ board-style questions with adaptive practice, analytics by organ system and topic, custom quizzes and mock exams. Around it sit 14 NCCPA blueprint courses with more than 450 topic modules, five 225-question practice exams, a 300-question timed virtual PANCE, seven End of Rotation exams and review courses, an End of Curriculum course, audio and video lectures with Joe Gilboy, PA-C, the premium Audio PANCE and PANRE podcast with over 12 hours of questions, board review tables and flashcard sets. Picmonic integration is listed on every pass. The site menu also sells single blueprint courses for $19.99, so buying four of them already costs more than a year of everything.
- 5,000+ question QBank with analytics
- 14 blueprint courses, 450+ topic modules
- Seven EOR exams and review courses
- Audio, flashcards and review tables
Is the ReelDx upgrade worth $20
The $99 pass adds the ReelDx patient video library to the same one-year membership. ReelDx clips are short real-patient cases with exam findings, imaging and lab data, and Smarty PANCE has embedded them in its blueprint lessons. On its own ReelDx costs $249 a year, a figure Smarty PANCE quotes on its sign-up page, so the bundle is a real discount if you would buy it anyway. For PANCE scoring the case is weaker. The exam is written questions, and the QBank, practice exams and blueprint courses that drive your score are identical on the $79 and $99 passes. Buy ReelDx if you learn better from seeing patients, not because the board needs it.
- Same content plus real-patient video cases
- $20 more than the $79 pass
- ReelDx alone is $249 a year
- Optional for PANCE scoring
The refund policy and the fail guarantee
Smarty PANCE has the most generous refund terms in this group, and they are stated plainly on its refund policy page. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, it issues a full refund within 60 days of purchase. If you do not pass the PANCE or PANRE, it will refund your purchase for up to one year or extend your access by a complimentary 12 months, your choice. There is no completion requirement printed on that page, unlike Blueprint's guarantee, which ties a refund to finishing the bank. Requests go through a form on the same page, and the owner asks you to open a support ticket first if the problem is a technical one.
- Full refund within 60 days for any reason
- Fail the boards and get a refund or 12 free months
- No printed completion requirement
- Requests go through the refund form
No automatic renewal and how extensions work
Standard Smarty PANCE passes are fixed-term memberships, not subscriptions. The member FAQ says your access ends at the close of the period you bought, so there is nothing to cancel and no surprise charge. Members who need more time buy a discounted extension of two weeks, three months or one year from the renewal page or from My Account while logged in, and the added time stacks on the same account. Gift checkouts exist for one-year memberships, with or without ReelDx. The site also lists a military and veteran program, group rates and institutional pricing for PA programs, each handled on its own page.
- Fixed term, no auto-renewal
- Discounted extensions for members
- Military, group and institutional pricing
- Gift memberships for one year
How Smarty PANCE compares with Blueprint UWorld and Hippo
Smarty PANCE is the cheapest serious option by a wide margin. Blueprint's PANCE Qbank, the former Rosh Review, is $259 for three months or $289 for a year with about 3,800 questions. UWorld's PA QBank starts at $309 for 2,050+ questions with illustrated explanations. Hippo's AAPA PANCE and PANRE Review with its 2,250+ question Qbank is $495 for a year, down from $620, and includes up to 262 AAPA Category 1 CME credits, which matters to a PA-C recertifying. What the higher prices buy is mostly polish and depth of explanation. Many candidates use Smarty PANCE for breadth and the blueprint courses, then add one premium bank for the final six weeks.
- Blueprint PANCE Qbank: $259 to $289
- UWorld PA QBank: from $309
- Hippo Review plus Qbank: $495
- Smarty PANCE one year: $79
Where Aspirants.ai fits next to Smarty PANCE
Any fixed bank runs out. By the second pass through 5,000 questions you start remembering answers, and the percentage on your dashboard stops telling you whether you can handle a new vignette. Aspirants.ai writes new PANCE-style clinical vignettes on the organ system and task area where you are weakest, explains why each wrong option is wrong, and answers follow-up questions at any hour, which is the part a static explanation cannot do. It costs from $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month, and you can cancel any time. Use the quiz above to try a few PANCE questions before you decide.
- New vignettes once the bank repeats
- Every answer choice explained
- From $24/mo billed yearly, cancel any time

Smarty PANCE price by pass length, what the QBank includes and the refund rules, answered straight.
Smarty PANCE costs $55 for two weeks, $65 for three months, $79 for one year or $99 for one year with ReelDx, read from smartypance.com on October 14, 2026. Every pass includes the full 5,000+ question QBank, all 14 blueprint courses and the End of Rotation exams. The passes are one-time payments for a fixed term and do not renew automatically.
Not in the auto-renewing sense. Smarty PANCE's member FAQ says its standard all-access passes are fixed-term memberships, so access ends when the period you bought runs out and you are not charged again. Members who want more time buy a discounted extension of two weeks, three months or a year, and the time is added to the same account.
For most PA students, yes. At $79 for a year it costs less than a third of any other major PANCE bank, includes the End of Rotation exams you need during the clinical year, and refunds you within 60 days if you dislike it. Its explanations are shorter and less illustrated than UWorld's or Blueprint's, which is why many students pair it with one premium bank near the exam.
It can be, and its refund promise for a failed exam shows the owner expects it to carry a full prep. It covers the whole NCCPA blueprint with courses, a 5,000+ question QBank and full-length practice exams. Students who want harder vignettes or more detailed explanations often add Blueprint's former Rosh Review Qbank or UWorld for the final weeks.
Yes, two of them. The refund policy promises a full refund within 60 days of purchase if you are unsatisfied for any reason. Separately, if you do not pass the PANCE or PANRE, Smarty PANCE will refund your purchase for up to one year or give you 12 more months of access free. No completion requirement is printed on that page.
The sign-up page says the one-year membership is currently discounted for a limited time, and that price, $79, is already the best value per month. Smarty PANCE also runs a military and veteran program, group rates and institutional pricing for PA programs, and existing members get discounted extensions from the renewal page or My Account.
Smarty PANCE describes its QBank as 5,000+ updated board-style questions with adaptive practice, analytics by organ system and topic, and mock exams. On top of that the membership includes five 225-question practice exams, a 300-question timed virtual PANCE, topic-specific exams and seven End of Rotation exams, all with unlimited retakes.
They do different jobs. Smarty PANCE costs $79 for a year and gives you breadth: blueprint courses, EOR exams, audio and a 5,000+ question bank. Blueprint's PANCE Qbank, formerly Rosh Review, costs $259 to $289 for about 3,800 questions with longer explanations and a Rapid Review recap under each one. Students on a budget start with Smarty PANCE; many add Rosh for the final stretch.
Yes. Every pass includes the PANRE and PANRE-LA courses, and the site adds a PANRE-LA smart search built to find blueprint answers quickly during the longitudinal assessment. The two-week pass at $55 exists mainly for PA-Cs who want a short, intense review before a PANRE date, though the one-year pass is only $24 more.
Smarty PANCE is run by Stephen Pasquini, PA-C, through The PA Life, Inc., which also publishes the Audio PANCE and PANRE podcast and the free daily PANCE question emails. It launched in January 2014 and is not affiliated with NCCPA or PAEA, which its own footer states.
